Demons and demonesses, get demonized in the woods. They're having fun; making up new little demons that shall reign on this earth that will soon come under their hammer.

Come touch me baby in his waking dream
disordered Henry murmured. I'll read you Hegel
and that will hurt your mind
I can't remember when you were unkind
but I will clear that block, I'll set you on fire
along with our babies

to save them up the high & ruined stairs,
my growing daughters. I am insane, I think,
they say & act so.
But then they let me out, and I must save them,
High fires will help, at this time, in my affairs.
I am insane, I know

and many of my close friends were half-sane
I see the rorschach for the dead on its way
Prop them up!
Trade us a lesson, pour me down a sink
I swear I'll love her always, like a drink
Let pass from me this cup

British filmmaker Ken McMullen's improvisational, non-linear film, 'Ghost Dance' (1983) concerns itself with various 'ghosts' (e.g., Kafka, Marx, Freud) and the issue of memory (the past) and how it functions in the present.

French philosopher Jacques Derrida plays 'himself' in the film and comments upon ghosts as they pertain to cinema and representation itself [...] cinema, for Derrida, 'is the art of ghosts' and he regards himself--as portrayed in the film--as yet another ghost in whom he 'believes' [...] modern technology (specifically, telecommunications), he says, instead of vanquishing ghosts, actually multiplies them [...] however this is not necessarily negative--its quite the opposite--'long live the ghosts!' he exclaims near the end of the clip.

The late Pascale Ogier plays 'Pascale' who is questioning Derrida.

The image above was sent to Bataille in 1925 by Adrien Borel.

'The torture victim was Fu Chou Li, guilty of murdering Prince Ao Han Ouan. The emperor's leniency granted that he should not be burned as decreed, but cut to pieces, into a hundred pieces: cut up alive. Georges Dumas may have been and Adrien Borel certainly was present at this execution on 10 April 1905, and brought back photographs of it.'
